Recently, Andrea Vigil completed an eight-week Latino Business Action Network series from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. During the hybrid program, she was immersed in lectures, workshops, networking, and other opportunities to refine her growth mindset among other entrepreneurs across the country.
When asked about her key takeaways from the program, Andrea immediately shared she has a stronger sense of empathizing with Allegiant Electric’s clients. “I learned to put myself in our commercial customers’ shoes,” she says. “One of our assignments was to reach out to one of them to understand their business and how we can help them truly.”
Andrea also points to the “broken windows” theory of identifying different processes within the operations of an organization that could be enhanced for increased efficiency. “I specifically looked at how our front desk was capturing information for the field technicians.” In her study, she determined that the more details her office team gets from the clients, the better the opportunity for the field technicians to best serve Allegiant Electric’s commercial and residential clients.
The program’s video submissions took Andrea out of her comfort zone, yet she brought home the second-place prize for the best video. Please check out her brief video here.
Now that the program has ended, Andrea will continue to work with her assigned mentor, which she describes as a gift. “The program was the best eight weeks, especially during times of COVID-19,” she shares. “I was able to refocus my energy and look inside my business for ways to provide even better service to our clients.”
