As you deck the halls, please keep these electrical safety tips in mind:

Extension cords: Not only are extension cords tripping hazards, but they can also be risky on your electrical system. Be mindful of overload, ground prong cut off, torn or shredded insulation, or even electrocution.
Outlets: Make sure these are working properly. We recommend ground-fault circuit interrupters — more commonly called GFCIs — which protect against electrical shock.
Ladders: Make sure they are placed on stable ground! Also, most ladder-related accidents come from individuals using ladders taller than six feet high. The risk exposure is also great when folks attempt to hang lights on the top of the roof. Bring a buddy to spot you or even consider hiring a professional!
