Allegiant Electric Attended UnidosUS Annual Conference

Last week, Anthony and Andrea Vigil represented Allegiant Electric as the sole contractor at the 2024 UnidosUS Annual Conference. Hosted in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, the event gathered 1,500 Latino leaders, advocates, and allies. UnidosUS is the largest Latino civil rights organization in the United States, and Andrea took the time to share her takeaways from the conference with us.

“I think being the only contractor, a women-owned electrical contractor, was a huge win for me. Connecting with all of the people there was amazing.” Andrea mentions that she had the opportunity to see her previous boss, Elena Gonzales with Homewise, and she was excited to introduce her to her daughter. “I was thrilled to share everything that we’ve been doing in Nevada. I was especially proud to share that I’ve helped seven of our employees through the homeownership process. Something that is truly important to me as a business owner is to guide my employees to become homeowners after they have two years of consistent work experience and income.”

At the event, Andrea spent time with Mark Madrid, one of her mentors. She also shares, “I met the amazing Rocio Perez, and she was so amazing just to be around. This inspired my daughter Aaliyah, who has started her own business, to continue to pursue her dream as an entrepreneur with Stained Hands Slime Shop. She is also actively looking for an ice cream truck for another business venture. I’ve become a momager!” jokes Andrea. Next year’s UnidosUS conference will take place in Kansas City, Missouri in August.
